STOCK BIKES
During leisure rides and when overtaking, the biker must concentrate on the engine to increase speed by downshifting for a smooth trajectory.
Depending on the manufacturer's settings, regulations, and fuel quality, factory engine tuning algorithms often present comfort variations depending on the engine speed.
The throttle does not always open 100% according to engine speed, even when fully open, ignition and engine advance are algorithmically constrained to burn fuels such as e5_102 - e5_100 - e5_98 - e10_95.
On the road, at 70 km/h in 5th or 6th gear with the throttle fully open, acceleration is achieved by choking the engine; the engine does not find its momentum on the first attempt, its torque curve drops to replace it with power to reach high engine speeds, often requiring downshifting one or two gears.

Bikers who want to increase their engine's torque and power can choose an open-type KN high-flow filter to appreciate the intake sound and its filtration quality to maximize air filling of the engine.
Depending on the brands, it is advisable to use Iridium (high-performance) spark plugs sold by motorcycle dealers.
We do not recommend riding with variable exhausts in closed mode unless the function of automatic opening in case of too high engine temperature is present on the brand you have selected.
We have noticed that Bikers who want to increase the power and sound of their Indian-Motorcycle often install an extreme high-flow air filter and very short exhausts, sometimes even empty.
The resonance in the intake will automatically modify the engine mapping behavior; the motorcycle will have some imperfections in engine progressivity; this type of equipment is not recommended; it is too mechanically antinomic.
We refuse to improve motorcycles that have an engine setting that has not respected the manufacturer's safety instructions; most of the time, these settings are the result of the installation of a freely downloadable automation box, and the safety tables are sometimes shifted, making them inactive.
Engines that have had this type of setting have suffered premature wear.
No one can speak of a peppered motorcycle if they have never tried one ;)
ROTRONIC DYNAMOMETER
A dynamometer measures power at the "wheel" (whp) via a force sensor on a roller.
Once the shot is over, the operator puts the gearbox in neutral, and the dynamometer measures the speed at which the wheel and roller slow down to determine the "engine" power (hp).
In a "perfect and frictionless" world, the wheel, once launched, would not change speed, and "wheel power" would be equal to "engine power," but the motorcycle's gears, tire, chain, or belt, as well as the moving parts of the dynamometer, generate friction, and the wheel inexorably slows down with the reading time; this is called transmission loss.
On a motorcycle, transmission loss is generally between 10 and 15%, meaning that 100 hp at the wheel give between 110 and 115 hp at the engine.
Manufacturer's announced power is always given "at the engine" and not at the wheel because during development, engine power is measured on a specific engine dynamometer directly without a gearbox or transmission.
